Saint Martin/Sint Maarten

A holiday on the magical island of St Martin and Sint Maarten is like two vacations in one. This 37-square-mile island is the smallest landmass on earth to be shared by two separate nations, France and the Kingdom of the Netherlands. There’s no actual border dividing the two tiny kingdoms, just a few signs and landmarks.

I am personally familiar with all Islands and Resorts I suggest in my newsletters.

FRENCH ST MARTIN
This French side of the island is quieter with luxury resorts and smaller, boutique hotels. While Marigot is the capital of St Martin, the charming fishing village of Grand Case is my favorite, with dining options from local grilled lobster on the beach to gourmet French Cuisine. The ferry to Anguilla, 30 minutes away, departs from Grand Case – great for a split stay or day trip.

DUTCH SINT MAARTEN
This is where the international airport (SXM) is located serving both the French and Dutch side. Sint Maarten – the capital is Philipsburg – is a busy cruise port so quite commercial with Duty Free shops, many restaurants, bars and casinos. Rent a car and have unrestricted access to both sides of the island.

NEW NON-STOP AIR FROM SEATTLE TO TAHITI!
No, Tahiti is not in the Caribbean but many of my clients have expressed an interest.
Air Tahiti Nui recently announced non-stop service from Seattle to Papeete twice weekly!
While I have traveled to the South Pacific, not specifically Tahiti. I have take their Specialist Training and fortunately I have a group of Tahiti Specialists to back me up through my preferred Tour Operator, Classic Vacations.
