British Virgin Islands-Come Sail Away!

British Virgin Islands (BVI) – Reminiscent of Washington State’s San Juan Islands, the BVI are a collection of 50 unspoiled islands that pack the best of the Caribbean into one convenient destination. Discovering the beauty of BVI is all about uncovering the unique character of each island in this unspoiled volcanic archipelago. Ferries make traveling convenient and easy between the major islands.

BVI’S LARGEST ISLANDS
Tortola – Powdery white-sand beaches, lush green mountains, and sheltered, yacht-filled harbors characterize the island of Tortola, the BVI’s largest and capital island. The past of the West Indies and the present-day BVI mix and mingle with ruins existing alongside the luxury resorts that draw visitors from around the world.
Anegada – The only coral island in the Virgin Islands’ volcanic chain, sparsely populated Anegada is characterized by its nearly flat elevation, the striking coral reefs that surround it and secluded sandy beaches. Famous for Anegada Lobster prepared on the grill daily!
Virgin Gorda- The dramatic shape of the BVI’s third largest island, Virgin Gorda, reminded Christopher Columbus of a reclining woman, or “Fat Virgin,” inspiring its name. Measuring 8 ½ square miles, Virgin Gorda welcomes travelers with its yacht clubs, quiet coves, safe anchorages and luxury resorts and villas.
Jost Van Dyke – Named for an early Dutch settler and former pirate, Jost Van Dyke runs deep with rugged scenery and colorful folklore. Explore vegetation-covered sugar mill ruins, old trails that crisscross the island and the East End’s natural sea-formed Jacuzzi, or observe whales and dolphins.

STAY
Sugar Mill Hotel – Tortola – The perfect place to relax and enjoy the beautiful British Virgin Islands. A boutique style hotel located on the grounds of the original 400 year old stone built former Sugar Mill. On site, The Sugar Mill Restaurant offers some of the finest dining in the Caribbean. I brought home the user-friendly Sugar Mill Cookbook for a taste of the Caribbean on demand.
Anegada Beach Club – Anegada Experience “Glamping” in Beachfront Palapa Retreats – the cottage on the beach we all search for! Home to Tommy Gaunt, a world class kite surfer and certified instructor of kite surfing and paddle boarding. Tommy offers all levels of lessons, allowing guests to fully enjoy their experience on the water.
Rosewood Little Dix Bay – Virgin Gorda Synonymous with barefoot luxury, it remains true to its heritage.
A sophisticated Caribbean sensibility with the understated refinements of mid-century modern design. All accommodations enjoy ocean views and dedicated butler service.
Peter Island Resort & Spa – Tortola Family-owned and committed to preserving paradise, only 300 of the 1800 acres on this island resort have been developed. A reverse osmosis water purification plant and the first windmill generators in the BVI were installed to minimize the island’s footprint.
Oil Nut Bay- Virgin Gorda Exclusive collection of villa rentals offer a private island escape that highlights breathtaking ocean views and laidback Caribbean living. One bedroom suites for 2 and luxury 2-6 bedroom villas for families and friends provide the comfort, safety and seclusion of your own private oasis.
Wyndham Lambert Beach Resort – Tortola- The resort comprises a series of single-story buildings laid out over approximately 14 acres of landscaped grounds. One of the resort’s main assets is the beach, 1500 feet of fine sand recognized as being among the most picturesque beaches in the Caribbean.

PLAY
Dream Yacht Charter- Yacht chartering provides an adventure at sea whether you’re a first-time sailor or an experienced captain thanks to consistent trade winds, minimal tides, clear water and sunshine every day. Find a different cove each day at different islands, pack your vessel with all the necessities, then set sail for wherever the spirit (or the wind) moves you. All beaches are accessible in BVI. Enjoy the privacy of a yacht charter for an individual, family or friends get-away. Choose from Bareboat, Skippered, Crewed or By-the-Cabin Charters.
